The beginning of the road
Operations began in the 1990’s under the name Spring Garden Foods and BS&T subsequently acquired the companies of M. E. R. Bourne & Co. and Interage Limited in 2002, when SBI Distribution Inc. was formed, thereby becoming the dynamic importer/distributor it is today, servicing hotels, restaurants, government institutions, the cruise ship industry and all categories of retail outlets.

Neal & Massy Merger
With this merger, the company is now operating from 170,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space and boasts a well established delivery fleet which serves our customers island wide. We have instituted a comprehensive Health & Safety programme which has been embraced by our employees and we are also going through the steps and modules to be ISO 9001:2008 (Quality Management System) Certified, which we hope to complete in early 2014. Our company prides itself on being on the cutting edge of technology and has instituted a software platform known as the Warehouse Management System for managing several aspects of warehouse operations.This software enhances customer service, reduces the incidents of expired and damaged stock, improves visibility of stock movement and enables perpetual stocktaking among other things. It also enables Lot and Batch tracking for improved handling of product recalls.

In March 2010, Agro Chemicals was amalgamated with SBI Distribution Inc. This company was formed in October 2001 as a result of the merger of Wimcal Limited and the Agro Department of T. Geddes Grant (Barbados) Ltd. For over 25 years the Company has supplied farmers and homeowners with a full range of agricultural products from equipment, chemicals, fertilizers and seeds to veterinary pharmaceuticals, livestock and equine supplies, making them the leading importer of Agricultural Commodities in Barbados.
